Free e-resources
Click on the links below for information free e-Resources which are available to all. Infothèque francophone - (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie)http://www.infotheque.info/www.infotheque.info/statique - Ressources en ligne et actualités scientifiques francophones The catalogue of the Infothèque includes pedagogical and scientific resources available in full text on the internet. Thoses resources, that are related to the higher education and research, may be in French as well as in local language, but the notices describing the resources are written only in French. The Infothèque has for main goal to help the French-speaking students of the South to easily find on Internet information which can be useful for them to revise their courses, or complete their research tasks. The link www.infotheque.info is quite interesting, in fact the least attractive part is that of the list of catalogues from publishing houses in the Francophone community as it has not been updated since 2002, it is useful in the sense that the catalogues have been organised into 7 academic thematic categories but many of the links dont work any more or lead to things that have nothing to do with scientific publications, and they are mostly very commercial-driven catalogues and not the factual sites of the publishing houses. But the site is more than that, it gives access to electronic journals in many different disciplines in French, both from developed and developing countries, news about scientific publications, resources, events, links to virtual libraries, teaching material for free, online dictionaries, info on related scholarships, archives, and France-based INIST and AUF links (University Agency of the Francophone Community). All the teaching material and related academic resources accessed are for free, and every week they pick a topic and provide with free online teaching and learning material. As to the electronic journals, there are open access ones and others with charges, can be of interest to get an overview of scientific online publishing from Africa.
